| For Immediate Release Amazing Students on an Agriculture Adventure (Winnipeg, September 7, 2007) – An adventurous group of grade 4 and 5 students are going to learn all about agriculture. From the farm gate to the products they eat and use everyday, they will learn the ins and outs of agriculture one station at a time.
“Agriculture in the Classroom – Manitoba is dedicated in cultivating an interest in agriculture. This is easy as agriculture is such an integral part of Manitoba’s culture and an important part of everyday life.” says executive director Johanne Ross. “We enjoy engaging students through interactive, hands-on experiences that get them up close and personal with agriculture.”
A total of 800 amazing students will be going on an agriculture adventure September 11th, 12th and 13th. Students will work their way through 18 interactive stations at the Red River Exhibition Grounds to learn about the many different aspects of agriculture. The Amazing Agriculture Adventure is a fun field trip for grade 4 and 5 students to learn more about the agriculture community.
Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba is a non-profit organization supported by individuals and the agriculture industry. The organization runs several programs throughout the year including the Amazing Agriculture Adventure, the Teacher Learning Adventure, farm tours and other special events. AITC-M also develops and distributes teacher resources to help deliver agriculture information for use within the school curriculum.
