The Bruce D. Campbell Farm and Food Discovery Centre is the first hands-on facility which will explore the ways in which food is made in Canada. The centre is located at the National Centre for Livestock and the Environment, at the University of Manitoba’s Glenlea Research Station.
Exciting and interactive exhibits lead visitors from the farmer’s wheat field to the kitchen table. A highlight of these exhibits are viewing windows into real working pig barn, where visitors will peek into a day in the life of a pig.

Tour after seeding or after harvest, riding through the many demonstration crops and learn about weeds, insects, soil, and seeds. It is strictly a grain research farm including crops such as canola, wheat, barley, flax, oats, soya beans, corn, etc. Leanne has many fascinating student activities, and provides a lot of background teacher information. School tours run through the months of May and June. Summer tours are held for daycare centers and youth groups in July and August. The tours are free.

This large farm of over 650 acres produces carrots, cooking onions, green onions, asparagus, broccoli, and strawberries. The tours run year round. View the planting operations and asparagus in May and June, harvesting in September and October, or the storage, warehousing and shipping of root crops during the winter months.
